Our Purpose

Young @ Heart is wonderfully balanced, so that we do not become so narrow that it overemphasizes certain aspects while under emphasizing other equally important aspects of senior adult life.

Spiritual Enrichment

Our senior years provide great growth potential.  Surveys have indicated that, among the general adult population, the older a person gets, the more important religion becomes to their life.

  • Senior adults can become the "pillars of the church".

  • Time pressures and life responsibilities have lessened.

  • Life experiences give deeper meaning to Bible teachings.

Young @ Heart provides senior adults spiritually enriching activities inluding Bible studies and intimte worship services.

Learning Opportunities

Through formal and informal groups every age and life circumstance should be actively involved in learning.  It is a myth that senior adults are not interested in learning.  Young @ Heart strives to bring special guest speakers with relevant topics and subjects that are particularly meaningful to us.

Socialization

We all have a need for interaction with other people.  Young @ Heart is just that... young-at-heart!  We encourage the development and nurturing of friendships and being a vital part of as many activities and functions as are available through our church and maybe even in our community.

Service Opportunities

Young @ Heart, as a whole, provides potential resources to the church.  We have not outlived our usefulness, but quite the contrary, we welcome and need opportunities to serve as well as be served, to minister as well as be ministered to.
